Troubleshooting Steps for Your VocalMist NebulizerUpdated a month ago

Having trouble getting adequate mist output from your VocalMist nebulizer? Below, you’ll find a series of steps to help you identify the cause and get your VocalMist back to performing effectively.

Note about indicator lights: If you notice a blinking or flashing light, still use the physical troubleshooting steps below. There is not a reliable fixed light-code map, so the light alone does not identify a specific cause.

1. Ensure Proper Charging

  • Fully Charge the Device
    • Connect your VocalMist nebulizer to a power source using the included USB cable for at least 1.5 hours.
    • A low or insufficient battery often leads to weak or nonexistent mist.

2. Verify You’re Using the Correct Solution

  • Use VocalMist Hydration Formula
    • Your nebulizer is optimized for our own isotonic saline solution.
    • Substituting other liquids can damage the device or reduce mist output.

3. Clear Liquid Accumulation in the Nozzle

  • Gently Shake the Unit
    • Sometimes, excess liquid can collect within the nozzle, blocking the mesh.
    • A light shake can free the mesh and restore normal mist production.

4. Inspect and Adjust any Compressed Pins

  • Detach the Saline Cup
    • Press the white button on the back of the device to remove the cup from the charger.
  • Check the 3 Gold Pins
    • These pins (on the bottom of the cup) should be fully extended to ensure proper electrical contact.
  • Adjust Compressed Pins
    • If any pin looks pushed in, carefully pull or press it back to a fully extended position.

5. Look for Corrosion or Discoloration

  • Examine All Connectors
    • Check both the gold pins on the saline cup and the circular connectors on the main (battery) unit.
  • Remove Corrosion
    • If you see discoloration, gently scrape the affected area with a thin metallic object (e.g., a paperclip) until the underlying metal is visible.
  • Reattach Firmly
    • Once everything is clean and aligned, firmly snap the saline cup back onto the device.

6. Deep Clean the Mesh

  • Flush the mesh: add a small amount of distilled water to the saline cup and run the device to nebulize it through, which clears buildup from the mesh. Use water only.
  • Gently shake the cup assembly from side to side (5–10 times) to release any water trapped in the mesh holes.
  • Let the cup air-dry completely before using it again.
